The ELCA's Lutheran Refugee Resettlement agency hired a progressive Democrat, non-Lutheran, and Michelle Obama's former policy Director, as its new President. That tells you all you need to know.
ELCA's Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) is one of the largest refugee resettlement agencies in the United States along with Catholic Charities. It was originally founded in 1939 and partners with Lutheran resettlement organizations including ones in Twin Cities and St. Cloud.
These resettlement "charities" make over $6,000 profit per refugee they resettle in America. It's a huge profit center for the ELCA and the Catholic Church. President Trump's policies, limiting migration from nations that sponsor terror, have put a huge damper in their financial statements. The ELCA alone boasts of bringing 379,000, mostly Muslim, refugees to America - which translates to $2.2 billion in total revenue.
Krishani O’Mara Vignarajah will be the first non-Lutheran to lead the religious organization in the nonprofit’s 80-year history. LIRS board chairman Michael Rinehart defended the decision saying:
“In the wake of unprecedented challenges to U.S. refugee resettlement and immigration policy, the LIRS mission — to protect, embrace, and empower those we serve — is more crucial now than ever. Her background as a refugee herself could also be very valuable in her work and leadership on refugee issues."
The new president Krishanti O’Mara Vignarajah has extensive experience in Democrat politics even before her role as a policy director with Michelle Obama. She worked as a senior adviser under former Democrat presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John Kerry. She ran for the Governor of Maryland in 2018 and lost.
If you don't want your church or Synagogue to bring refugees to America who share Ilhan Omar's philosophies, please tell your Pastor, Rabbi, or Priest and your congregation. If not us, who?
Five of the top nine resettlement agencies (VOLAGS) in America are Christian non-profits: Catholic Charities, ELCA Lutheran Social Services, World Relief Corporation, Church World Service, and Episcopal Migration Ministries. The other four are Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, International Rescue Committee, US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, and the Ethiopian Community Development Council.
The primary VOLAGs in Minnesota are:
-Catholic Charities
-International Institute of Minnesota
-ELCA Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota
-Minnesota Council of Churches: Refugee Services
