Here's a 2-minute Nike commercial, narrated by Colin Kaepernick, which will supposedly air during NBC's first NFL game Thursday evening between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
As a former advertising person, I have to say that the visuals are well done and the message is uplifting... if you bypass the transparent Islamic symbolism throughout and the political agenda using the word "refugee."
The disconnect is anti-American Colin Kaepernick delivering this. As if he is somehow at the top of his "athletic" game and a flag-waving patriotic inspiration to athletes around the world. His voice is weak. And his appearance is actually creepy, disconcerting and distracts from the message.
