Social media is questioning why, if Trump was planning to withdraw troops from Syria, Assad would launch a chemical attack in Government-controlled Douma. If Trump is planning airstrikes against Assad for chemical weapons use—with Russia & Iran supporting the regime—getting 2,000 American troops out of Syria first makes sense.
The left is now in a conundrum of sorts. Now that President Trump has called Assad an "Animal" and called out Obama for his lack of action regarding the "Red Line", will the left still support our taking military action vs Syria? John Bolton is set to begin his tenure as National Security Advisor tomorrow.
President Trump on Iran, Russia and Syria:
"Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. The area of atrocity is in lock-down and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing the Animal Assad. Big price to pay. Open area immediately for medical help and verification. Another humanitarian disaster for no reason, whatsoever. SICK! If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster would have ended long ago! Animal Assad would have been history!"
