Infuriated Palestinians, led by Hamas, hurled stones, bottle rockets and planted bombs as the US opened its embassy in Jerusalem. The mass riots, led by Gaza's Islamist rulers, Hamas, are part of a six-week protest dubbed the "Great March of Return" as tens of thousands of Palestinians marched on the border with Gaza. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) thwarted an attempted terror attack on when three armed Palestinians laid an explosive device near Rafah on the Gaza-Israel border. Soldiers fired and killed the three perpetrators.
At least 41 Palestinians have been killed and 1,800 wounded by Israeli troops, Palestinian officials say. In addition, an IDF plane targeted a Hamas outpost in the Jabaliya area of the Gaza Strip after identifying it as the source of gunfire at IDF troops.
Those on the ground say Hama’s plan today is to create so much violence on the Gaza border, and such a dangerous situation for Israel, that the IDF is forced to respond with lethal force. Hamas is intentionally trying to get civilians in Gaza killed so that there is more anger towards Israel. Gaza is using children as human shields and paying $1000 to every Palestinian who tries to breach the Gaza border with Israel and murder Israelis as they often do. The media wants you to think the "Great March of Return" is a human rights protest and that the rioters are innocent, but it is literally state-sponsored terrorism. Maybe the Palestinians should stop storming the borders of a sovereign nation. Israel has every right to defend its borders. If they were storming the borders of Iran or China, the media would not be defending the Palestinians. Palestinians NEED TO RECOGNIZE THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND ITS RIGHT TO EXIST.
“Hamas and those leading the demonstrations in Gaza must ensure that they remain strictly non-violent and must not exploit them for other means. Any further escalation of an already extremely tense and complex situation would cause again further unspeakable sufferings to both peoples, and will make the perspective of peace and security even more remote. In this moment, wisdom and courage would be needed to go back to negotiations for a political solution, for the sake both of the Israeli and the Palestinian people, and the entire region,” the European Union said.
When will the Palestinians hold Hamas accountable? Hamas says the “Great March of Return” is financed by small donations and governed by a central committee of about 27 seats populated by representatives from some 18 political and civil society groups — including the dominant West Bank political party Fatah, as well as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, both of which are recognized by the U.S. as terrorist organizations.
The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 (to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem) is a public law of the United States and was passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995, adopted by the Senate (93–5) and the House (374–37). Sounds pretty bipartisan to me.
That's the official US policy. Passed by both houses of Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support. And, in true political fashion, deferred every 6 months for the last 20 years - until now - when Trump finally followed through and Democrats boycotted the event.
Presidents Clinton, Obama and Bush all promised to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and follow the LAW. No one actually had the balls to do it, except President Trump. Truth.
